This Raven Signet Ring was hand-carved by Chris Cook from the Kwakwaka´wakw Nation. It has been carved from sterling silver, with a lapis lazuli stone set into a yellow gold bezel setting. The ring is 1/2 of an inch or 1 3/8 centimeters wide in the front and tapers down to about 1/4 of an inch or 3/4 of a centimeter in the back.
Mischievous and curious, the Raven plays many important roles in Pacific Northwest Coast Culture. For some, he symbolizes creation, transformation, knowledge, prestige as well as the complexity of nature and the subtlety of truth. He also symbolizes the unknown and shows that every person sees the world in a different way.
